Do Not Ask a Question if You Do Not want the Answer

Most people ask questions that they know the answer too, but they really do not like that answer so they ask another question trying to get a different answer, when in reality they should probably quit while they are ahead.

Worse many people ask questions to manipulate others into their way of thinking and this is silly if the other person is their intellectual equal, indeed it shows that they do not clearly respect the other party, their position or the group they represent with a given set of rules.

Sometimes it makes sense to listen to your intuition and when it is telling you something perhaps there is a reason. Procrastinating and then attempting to find someone who will tell you what you want to hear is not always the right choice. Don't ask a question if you do not want the answer.

Sometimes the truth hurts, but sometimes a little pain can set us on a course towards reality. A woman should not ask someone else if they think she looks fat in this dress. If she owns a mirror and looks in it she already knows the answer. If she asked someone to tell her the truth she may not like the answer. But if they answer her question incorrectly and lie to her and say; "oh you look fine," then that might cause even more damage.

You should never ask a question if you really don't want to know the answer. If you are afraid of the truth or what it might be and you already suspect what it is, then maybe you shouldn't be asking a question but rather looking for confirmation.
